On October 12, 2022, the Times Higher Education announced the results of THE World University Rankings 2023 (THE WUR 2023). Accordingly, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) featured in Group 1000 – 1200 globally of 1,799 ranked universities. In comparison with the 2022 ranking period, THE WUR 2023 has 240 more participating higher education institutions and 137 more ranked higher education institutions.

On October 3, 2022, the Standing Board of VNU Party Committee had a meeting to discuss a policy on financial support for young scientists.

On September 16, 2022, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngac An Bang, Vice Rector of the University, together with leaders of functional departments and the Faculty of Environment had a working session with representatives of Monash University (Australia), Australia and Malaysia campuses.

On September 15, 2022, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngac An Bang - Vice Rector of the University together with the leaders of the Department for Development & Cooperation and leaders of the Faculty of Mathematics - Mechanical - Informatics, Faculty of Physics, Faculty of Biology and Faculty of Environment had a meeting with representatives of Osaka University, Japan.

On September 8, 2022, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Ngac An Bang - Vice Rector of VNU-HUS and leaders of the Faculty of Physics and the Department for Development & Cooperation had a meeting with representatives of National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU) (Taiwan, China).

On September 5, 2022, President Nguyen Xuan Phuc attended the opening ceremony of the academic year 2022-2023 at VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students.

In August 2022, Research.com announced the ranking results of world scientists with excellent achievements in scientific publications, according to which, 4 out of 10 scientists were from VNU Hanoi: Prof. Dr. Nguyen Dinh Duc - Head of the Department for Academic Affairs, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Hoang Son - Institute of Information Technology; Prof. Dr. Pham Hung Viet and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tu Binh Minh, both from the VNU-HUS.

The opening ceremony of the international symposium on "Environmentally friendly and appropriate technology in waste utilization and environmental rehabilitation in remote areas" took place at VNU-HUS on the morning of August 15, 2022.
