Ceremony of Awarding Master’s Degree of Chemistry "Advanced Materials and Environment"

On 19/06/2013, at 19 Le Thanh Tong, VNU University of Science was held a Ceremony of Awarding Master's Degree of Chemistry for the third and fourth courses, and a Master's thesis protection of the fifth course, specialized in Chemistry "Advanced Materials and Environment ".

On 19/06/2013, at 19 Le Thanh Tong, VNU University of Science was held a Ceremony of Awarding Master's Degree of Chemistry for the third and fourth courses, and a Master's thesis protection of the fifth course, specialized in Chemistry "Advanced Materials and Environment ". 

This was a joint training program between VNU University of Science, with the University of South Toulon-Var, French Republic funded by the Organization of the AUF Francophonie University.


 

Attending the ceremony were Prof. Pascal Carriere - Vice - President of the University of South Toulon-Var; Mr. Jean Charconnet - In charge of the project, Asia Pacific AUF office, Associate Professor Doctor Bui Duy Cam, Rector of VNU University of Science, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son, Dean of Faculty of Chemistry and the lecturers, the new masters of the third and fourth courses and 09 students of the fifth course. In the 14 students of the third and fourth courses who were awarded master's degrees today, there were 05 students awarded scholarships for being a graduate student in France and other European countries.


 

Speaking at the ceremony, Associate Professor Bui Duy Cam emphasized: the ceremony of awarding masters degree for the third and fourth courses and the master’s thesis protection of the students today reaffirmed the effective cooperation between VNu University of Science and University of South Toulon-Var. Associate Professor thanked to the leaders and professors who participated in the cooperative program of University of South Toulon-Var and the Francophonie AUF organization have supported VNU University of Science, especially the Department of Chemistry in the recent years. Associate Professor also gave congratulations to the new masters, wished them to continue striving on the path of science and devoted to the education of the country as well as national development; wished the students of the fifth course to protect their master's thesis successfully.


 

Prof. Pascal Carriere said he was honored to be the President on behalf of the University of South Toulon-Var to attend today's ceremony. Colleagues at the University of South Toulon-Var, as well as in AUF highly appreciated the capability of the students as well as the success of the collaborative projects, especially the formation of a joint research team between VNU University of Science and the laboratory of University of South Toulon-Var in the recent time. This international research group focused on polymeric materials research and environment, to enhance understanding, friendship, cooperation among students, faculty members of the two universities, thereby promoting exchanges of students, lecturers, researchers between the two universities.

The MoU between VNU University of Science and University of South Toulon-Var on master training program was signed on 23/09/2008 at VNU University of Science. The course is divided into 2 phases:
Phase 1: approximately 200 hours of theory. The entire content of the program is of University of Toulon - Var and teach by professors from University of Toulon - Var and VNU University of Science.
Phase 2: preparing thesis. Students will be facilitated to prepare thesis in the labs of the famous universities in France, Europe and VNU University of Science, or implementing at the factories or groups in France.
Languages of teaching and learning in the programs are in French and 10% in English.
To join the course, candidates must have a good formal bachelor degree and more in the fields related to Chemistry and Materials Science. Candidates must meet foreign language requirements for listening, understanding and communicating with lecturers.
