In the morning of April 16th, 2013, VNU University of Science (VNU-HUS) organized the Graduation and Masters’ Degrees Awarding Ceremony for 499 graduate students.
From 2002 up to now, VNU-HUS has trained and awarded MSc Degree for 3.258 graduate students, and today, there are 499 new MSc. students have been awarded.
In the opening ceremony, Professor Doctor Nguyen Hoang Luong, Vice Rector said: Through over 55 years of contribution and development, lecturers and students have been contributing talented and enthusiasm to contribute VNU-HUS to become a top training center of basic science staff for the whole country, having reputation in the region and the world.
VNU-HUS always reaches to the target “Gathering all resources, knowledge, trying to contribute and develop VNU-HUS to become a research university which having strong potential, high quality in training and research, achieve regional standard early and step by step achieve international standard”. VNU-HUS has been innovating, completing and modernizing the frame of training program for Masters and Doctors; to combine closely of widening the scale, opening new training program to reach to social requirements with high quality, in which the training quality is the main target.
To combine the scientific research and postgraduate training is the strong point of VNU-HUS. Almost of the scientific projects were in association with Master’s and Doctor’s thesis, and were priority approved for funding.
In addition to the own efforts, VNU-HUS has been widen the relationship with internal and external scientists and institutes ….At present, VNU-HUS is having 05 specialized trainings for postgraduates in associate with other countries such as German, France and Holland. With the reputation and achievement, VNU-HUS has assigned by Ministry of Education and Training to train Doctor’s level in 37 specialties according to the Faculty Training Project that qualified for universities, colleges periods 2010 – 2020 (Project 911).
Representative leaders of Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Kim Son sent his warmest congratulations to 499 new masters. He stressed, out of more than 100 specialized postgraduate training of the entire VNU, VNU-HUS has been training for more than 40 majors. Not only big in the number of majors, graduate training reputation of the University has been confirmed through the thickness of the training process, through products are the masters that appreciated by society, through the large amount of scientists, through the combination of training and scientific research, bring up the high quality products, ... he hopes that these new masters continue to uphold what have been in the research work, because each success of them will be considered as the success of VNU University of Science.
