VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students contestant wins a Gold Medal and 3 Silver Medals at the 2020 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad (APIO 2020)

As announced by the Ministry of Education and Training on August 22, 2020, six Vietnamese contestants including four from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students won medals at the 2020 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad.

Bui Hong Duc, a 12th grader from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students won the only gold medal for the Vietnamese team.

The four silver medalists were Vu Hoang Kien, a 12th grader from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students; Le Quang Huy, an 11th grader from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students; Nguyen Dinh Phuc, an 11th grader from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students; and Tran Quang Thanh, a 12th grader from Hanoi National University of Education High School for Gifted Students.

Dao Quang Thai Duong, a 12th grader from Tran Phu High School for Gifted Students (Hai Phong city) won a bronze medal.

The APIO 2020, hosted by Indonesia, was held in the form of a remote access exam. This exam attracted 717 contestants from 31 countries and territories. The Vietnamese team of fifteen contestants took the exam online at VNU University of Engineering and Technology on August 15, 2020.
