VNU - HUS organizes the 2021 Graduation and Degree Awarding Ceremony

On the morning of September 10th, Vietnam National University - University of Science (VNU - HUS) organized the 2021 Graduation and Degree Awarding Ceremony for full-time Bachelor of Science alumni. Due to COVID-19, the ceremony was hosted online at 334 Nguyễn Trãi, Thanh Xuân, Hà Nội.

Attending the ceremony were Assoc.Prof.Dr.Sc.Vũ Hoàng Linh, Party Committee Secretary, Rector of VNU - HUS; Prof.Dr. Lê Thanh Sơn, Vice-Rector of VNU - HUS; members of the Party Committee, Management Board, Labor Union, Youth Union, Student Association; Heads and Deputy Heads of functional departments, Heads of units under VNU - HUS, Heads of Faculties, Executive Board of Bachelor of Science Talent programs, representative of VNU - HUS teaching staff members, Training Assistants, and Student Affairs members.

The ceremony also had the presence of QH.2017 graduates, their families, and their acquaintances.

In his speech at the ceremony, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Sc. Vũ Hoàng Linh, Rector of VNU - HUS mentioned that staff members and students of VNU - HUS started upholding the Resolution of the 27th Party Congress of VNU - HUS and the Resolution of the 6th Party Congress of VNU. Despite many difficulties, particularly the COVID-19 pandemic, everyone in VNU - HUS did their best with their talent and passion, approaching the goal of transforming VNU - HUS into an advanced research university. QH.2017 students were among the contributors to the building and development of VNU - HUS.

In the academic year of 2017 -2021, many students had excellent academic results and many students who are members of the Youth Union achieved very good academic results. Many students with difficult backgrounds overcame their hardships to achieve outstanding results as well. To complement and recognize those achievements, the Council of Emulation and Commendation made a decision to reward and honor those students.

VNU issued decisions on commending and awarding Certificates of Merit from the President of VNU to QH.2017 students with excellent academic accomplishments and valedictorians. VNU - HUS also presented Certificates of Merit and awards to 24 students who achieved excellent academic accomplishments as well.

On behalf of her peers, Thái Ngọc Anh, a QH.2017 student of Chemistry Talent program class who graduated with a distinction degree and has just flown to France for her postgraduate study after receiving a scholarship from the Embassy of France, expressed her gratitude toward her teachers, her family members, and VNU - HUS for having helped her and her peers to complete the education.

“As I am starting a new life in a foreign land, I am reminded of my first few months in Hanoi after my admission to VNU - HUS. Much like other students, I had a difficult time living in a busy city, I could not fight my desire to sleep in classes, I had to struggle with Calculus and General Physics. I even considered having one or a few gap years. It was my passionate teachers who helped me overcome those obstacles so I could strive further. Four years of tertiary education, though short, was sufficient to record every step on the path of growth of every student, and it was the teachers who guided us on that path” - Thái Ngọc Anh shared.

The ceremony ended in joy and coziness through Zoom screen, with PowerPoint slides honoring all students who received Full-Time Bachelor of Science degrees.

Among the students of the QH.2017 cohort who graduated and received a bachelor of science degree this time, there were 60 from Talent, Advanced, International Standard, and Fast-Track programs. Some of them received scholarships to study for their Master’s and Doctorate degree in the United States, France, Canada, Russia, Japan, South Korea. With the knowledge and skills accumulated in the last four years, VNU - HUS believes that they will perform well in their study for their Master’s and Doctorate degree in prestigious universities across the world.
