A silver medal of the International Biology Olympiad and a Labor Medal class III awarded by the President of Vietnam in 2020 are the outstanding achievements of Đồng Ngọc Hà - a former Physics-gifted student of HUS High School for Gifted Students (a member unit of Vietnam National University - University of Science, or VNU - HUS).
Now a student of biology (Cohort K65, VNU – HUS), Ha has recently made another achievement: being recognized as one of the world’s top 50 outstanding students. For this achievement, Hà has invested an insurmountable amount of effort and his family has always been his motivation, too.
Born in a poverty-stricken family, Hà studied with his mother, who had not completed her high school education, to help her accomplish the unfinished endeavor.
During the time when he was studying with his mother, Hà always pondered about the idea of building a learning program to help gifted biology students with the same economical problem as his continue pursuing their passion. Thus the project “Biology for all Vietnamese” was born.
