According to the Quality Control Department (Ministry of Education and Training), on the evening of May 26th, at the 2021 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad, all six Vietnamese participants won prizes with two gold, one silver and three bronze medals. Before that, on May 24th, the 2021 Asian Physics Olympic also ended. Eight students from the Vietnam’s national team won two gold medals, one silver medal and three bronze medals, two certificates of merit.
Two gold medals of the 2021 Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad belong to Le Quang Huy, 12th grader of HUS-HSGS (VNU) and Truong Van Quoc Bao, qqth grader, Phan Boi Chau Highschool for Gifted Students (Nghe An). Ho Ngoc Vinh Phat, 12th grader of Quoc Hoc High School For the Gifted (Hue), got a silver medal. Nguyen Vu Dang Huy, 12th grader, of High School For the Gifted (VNU-HCM), Dao Duy Anh, 12th grader of Nguyen Trai High School for the Gifted (Hai Duong); Tran Xuan Bach, 10th grader of High School for the Gifted (HUS-VNU) was awarded bronze medals.
The two students who won gold medals in the Asian Physics Olympiad 2021 are Nguyen Manh Quan and Tran Quang Vinh, 12th graders, Hanoi Amsterdam Highschool for the Gifted. Bui Thanh Tan, 12th grader of Phan Boi Chau Highschool for the Gifted, won a silver medal. Three bronze medals went to Nguyen Trong Thuan, 12th grader of Lam Son Highschool for the Gifted, Thanh Hoa Province; Le Minh Hoang, 11th grader of HUS-HSGS (VNU); Nguyen Hoang Nam, 12th grader of Hanoi Amsterdam Highschool for the Gifted, Trang Dao Cong Minh, 12th grader of HUS-HSGS and Nguyen Dac Tien, 12th grader ofBac Ninh Highschool for the Gifted recieved certificates of merits.
The Asia-Pacific Informatics Olympiad 2021, hosted by Indonesia, took place on May 22nd with 845 participants from 35 nations and territories, 228 of which were selected for the prizes.
The Asian Physics Olympiad 2021, hosted by Taiwan (China) was from May 16th until May 24th with 23 delegations from various nations and territories with 181 participants, including 5 delegations of 37 contestants.
This year, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, both competitions were held online.
