The Taiwan Semiconductor Career Day 2026 was successfully held at the VNU University of Science (VNU-HUS), Vietnam National University, Hanoi. All four Vietnamese students have won medals, including two golds and two silvers, at the 60th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad, held in Moscow, Russia, from April 15 to 23, according to the Ministry of Education and Training. Students from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students made up 2 out of 4 team members, and both won medals, including Nguyen Thai Minh – Gold Medal (ranked 11th) and Nguyen Huu Tue – Silver Medal.

On March 25, 2026, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) released the results of its World University Rankings by Subject 2026 for 55 disciplines grouped into five broad subject areas across approximately 21,000 programs offered by 1,912 higher education institutions.

Students from VNU HUS High School for Gifted won 6 out of 14 First Prizes at the National Science and Engineering Competition for the 2025–2026 academic year.

Recently, the Vietnam Institute for Advanced Study in Mathematics (VIASM) and the University of Science under Vietnam National University, Hanoi signed a strategic cooperation agreement aimed at improving the quality of education and research in mathematics.

The Vietnam Mathematical Society recently announced its decision to confer the 2025 prize on two educators and four students. The award is one of the society’s most prestigious honors, recognizing outstanding mathematics teachers and exceptional students nationwide. The two honored teachers are Tran Quang Hung, a teacher at the High School for Gifted Students in Natural Sciences under the University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and Tran Dinh Huu, a teacher at Ha Tinh High School for the Gifted in Ha Tinh Province.
