7.067 postgraduates of HUS have been conferred Master’s Degrees

Said Associate Professor Vu Hoang Linh, Party Committee Secretary, Rector of HUS at the Commencement for 195 Masters of Science who had successfully finished the training program and defended their thesis in 8 Faculties.

The Commencement Ceremony for 195 new masters took place on the morning of April 15th, 2021 in the Meeting-hall, floor 7th, T5 Building with the participation of various delegates from VNU, VNU-UMP, The HUS Administrator Council, Member of the Standing Committee, Representatives of the Labor Union andCommunist Youth Union, Head of Units under HUS, representatives of lecturers, and especially all of the newly graduated master students who had just completed the course.  

According to Assoc. Prof. Vu Hoang Linh, in the past year, although the Covid-19 pandemic had left quite an impact on all walks of life, the university continued to achieve success on various training and scientific research, bringing VNU into top international ranking lists such as QS, THE,…Since the first Master Cohort in1992-, there have been 7.067 students of HUS being conferred Master’s Degrees. And today, in this honouring commencement, there are 195 more Master’s Degrees conferred.

To encourage the studying and researching morale, HUS especially praised 07 graduate students for their excellent perfomances throughout the course.

On behalf of the new masters, Ms. Vu Thi Hai, graduate student of the Faculty of Biology delivered a speech to show her gratitude towards instructors and the university as well as her pride receiving a Master’s Degree in the field of science.

“We are so happy and proud for overcoming such difficulties and hurdles to grow and accomplish today’s results. On that road, there was joy and the jubilance when our articles were accepted; there was also disappointment when the experiment didn’t work out. We will never forget practical and interesting lectures; the times when the teachers gave us instructions for our thesis. Along with lessons about the subject, we were shared valuable lessons in life, meaningful stories about science ethics, precious experiences and all the best things from either our lectures or our classmates.” – Newly graduated master Vu Thi Hai said.

At HUS, training in general and post-graduates training in particular will always be closely attached with scientific research. Many students of the university have been directly participating in basic and applied research projects and have attained prestigious prizes.

In 2020, scientists of HUS published more than 500 scientific papers on international magazines, most of which are on the ISI/Scopus list. Many young lecturers had honourably been nominated or awarded both national and international prizes in Science and Technology.

To make full advantage of human resources as well as the material facilities for training, the University’s Faculties have opened cooperative relationships with Mininistries, Departments and Sectors,  localities, agencies andenterprises home and abroad. Especially, despite obstacles and challenges posed by the Covid-19 pandemic, some exchange and joint-training programs with partner universities in Europe and Asiawere still conducted..

In 2021, following the instructions by VNU, HUS will pilot the new admission policy for Master’s level for those applicants graduating from special training programs and internationally accredited training programs at VNU.
