KLEPT-ICGEB: Cooperation in the field of research and application of genetically modified DNA encoding

On January 27, Vice-Rector Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia met with Prof. Renu Tuteja and Prof. Narendra Tuteja from International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) in New Delhi, India. Accompanying the delegation were representatives of the Broad of Presidents and staff of the Core Laboratory for Enzyme and Protein Technology.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia and the delegation discussed bilateral cooperation. As a result, the ICGEB will cooperate with the Core Laboratory for Enzyme and Protein Technology on applied research transfer DNA helicase gene coding for microorganisms and plants to enhance stress tolerance and application as markers for recombinant screening for antibiotic resistant genes.

On the sidelines of the meeting, the delegation had seminars with staff, lecturers and post-graduate students of Core Laboratory for Enzyme and Protein Technology and Biological Faculty. The presentation focused on the issues of the role of DNA helicase in the stress tolerance of plants, and the importance of helicase enzymes characterized in Plasmodium in developing a malaria cure.
