On the morning of March 12, 2024, the University of Science, VNU, had a meeting and working session with representatives from the University of Saskatchewan, one of Canada's top 15 research universities.

Welcoming and working with the delegation from the University of Saskatchewan (USask), representing the University of Science, VNU, were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang, Vice Rector of the university; Dr. Nguyen Công Toan, Vice Principal of the HUS High School for Gifted Students; Dr. Tran Thien Cuong, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Environment; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Ha, Deputy Head of the Department of Cooperation and Development.

At the meeting, after hearing the information shared by the USask representatives, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang expressed that USask is an excellent destination for high school students after graduation. Therefore, he hopes that both sides will soon organize a meeting to directly share information with students. This will allow students to exchange and grasp important details related to career orientation and the university's scholarship policies. Additionally, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang hopes that USask will provide experts to support students from the High School for Gifted Students during their application process to the university.
Upon learning about the HUS High School for Gifted Students, the USask representatives highly appreciated the importance of the specialized school system in Vietnam. They recognized that HUS High School for Gifted Students, along with other specialized schools, serves as a cradle for nurturing the country's talents. Therefore, USask is eager to recruit talented students from the school to continue their studies at higher education levels.

At the meeting, Ms. Xing Xu, USask's admissions representative, provided information on the university's strong academic programs, such as Physics, Computer Science, and Chemistry. She also shared that outstanding students from HUS High School for Gifted Students could receive a $3,000 scholarship in their first year. Additionally, Ms. Xing Xu expressed her desire for future collaboration between USask and the Faculty of Environment at the VNU-HUS, particularly in Environmental Engineering, a field in which USask ranks in the top 4 in Canada.
