The University of Science signs a cooperation agreement with Organoid Sciences (South Korea)

On February 28, 2024, Hanoi University of Science (HUS) hosted a working session and a signing ceremony to establish a cooperation agreement with Organoid Sciences from South Korea.

The working session was attended by Professor Jongman Yoo, CEO of Organoid Sciences; Dr. Bo Eun Lee (Organoid Sciences Vietnam branch); Dr. Trương Minh Dũng (Organoid Sciences Vietnam branch); and Ms. Gina Kim, Executive Director of Organoid Sciences.

Representing HUS were Prof. Dr. Sc. Vu Hoang Linh, the Rector of the university, along with leaders from the Cooperation and Development Department, and from the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Biology.

At the meeting, representatives of Organoid Sciences introduced the company's history and its achievements.

Organoid Sciences, a spin-off startup founded in 2018 from CHA University—one of South Korea's leading universities specializing in medical sciences—has emerged as a pioneering company in Asia in the development of organoid platforms for medical applications and drug testing.

On behalf of the HUS Board of Rectors, Prof. Dr. Sc. Vu Hoang Linh expressed the university's honor in welcoming the esteemed guests from Organoid Sciences, South Korea.

"We are delighted that this working session will allow us to learn more about Organoid Sciences' work in organoid research, a field with tremendous potential for groundbreaking achievements in various aspects of medicine and healthcare" said Prof. Dr. Sc. Vu Hoang Linh.

Representing Organoid Sciences, Professor Jongman Yoo expressed his pleasure in collaborating with HUS-VNU, one of Vietnam’s leading universities in scientific research. He noted that through the signing of the memorandum of understanding, the two sides would promote academic exchanges, research collaboration, and technology transfer in general, as well as the sharing of knowledge and expertise in organoid research in particular. Importantly, the joint research projects between the two parties are expected to make significant contributions to science and help address global challenges.
