Workshop on “Nanomaterials Applied in the Fabrication of Biosensors”

As part of international cooperation efforts, on the afternoon of December 20, 2023, University of Science, VNU Hanoi, in collaboration with the VinFuture Global Prize Foundation, organized an international workshop on "Nanomaterials Applied in the Fabrication of Biosensors."

The workshop featured participation from Prof. Dr. Mônica Alonso Cotta and Prof. Dr. Douglas Galvão from the University of Campinas (Brazil), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang, Vice Rector of VNU University of Science, along with faculty members and students from the university.

During the workshop, Prof. Dr. Mônica Alonso Cotta delivered a presentation on "Bacterial adhesion and biofilm formation: what can we learn with tools at the nanoscale?" Prof. Dr. Nguyen The Toan, Dean of the Faculty of Physics, VNU University of Science, presented on “Machine learning application to biomedicine research at the VNU Key Laboratory for Multiscale Simulation of Complex Systems (KeyLAB).” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham The Hai, Dean of the Faculty of Biology, VNU University of Science, discussed "Quorum sensing in Vibrio bacteria and potential
applications for aquaculture in Vietnam."

As the host and moderator of the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang, Vice Rector of VNU University of Science, facilitated the connection between the speakers and the attendees, ensuring a clear and cohesive flow of the discussion.

Before the workshop, Prof. Dr. Mônica Alonso Cotta had a meeting with the leadership of VNU-HUS, where they discussed potential collaboration between the University of Campinas and VNU University of Science. She also visited the university's Traditional Room. Prof. Dr. Mônica Alonso Cotta expressed her pleasure in visiting VNU University of Science, a university with a rich tradition in basic science education in Vietnam, and stated her willingness to serve as a bridge for cooperation between the University of Campinas and VNU University of Science.
