He also extended sincere appreciation to the partners for their trust and continued cooperation with VNU-HUS, which has created life-changing opportunities for the University’s students and young researchers.
“As one of Vietnam’s leading institutions in science and technology education, VNU University of Science takes pride in nurturing talents in the fundamental sciences throughout the entire educational journey - from the High School for Gifted Students in Science, to undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral programmes. We believe that investing in young talents is a key factor for the future of Vietnam as well as the global scientific community,” said Assoc. Prof. Ngac An Bang.
In his remarks, Assoc. Prof. Ngac An Bang also encouraged students to actively engage in Global Connections Day 2026 by confidently interacting with international guests, exploring new academic and research opportunities, and remaining open to future possibilities. He emphasized that:
“Conversations that begin today may become the very first steps on your exciting journey toward global academic and professional opportunities in the future.”
On the occasion of VNU-HUS preparing to send 15 students to Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore, for a two-month research internship programme, Prof. Duan Hongwei - Chair of the School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology at NTU - shared that since the establishment of cooperation with the Faculty of Chemistry at VNU-HUS, NTU has welcomed HUS students to participate in its summer internship programme every year. This August, at least two students who joined last year’s internship programme will return to NTU to pursue doctoral studies. Professor Duan Hongwei also affirmed his willingness to provide information and support to students interested in learning more about study and research opportunities at Nanyang Technological University.
Dr. Zhang Hechuan from Peking University (PKU) also delivered remarks, sharing perspectives on international cooperation and opportunities for students and young researchers.
“Currently, there are 53 Vietnamese students studying at Peking University in various undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Two years ago, the leadership of Peking University and Vietnam National University met and signed a series of important cooperation initiatives under the witness of the Presidents of China and Vietnam. Peking University is very willing to welcome more Vietnamese students to study at PKU. Faculty members and programme administrators at PKU highly appreciate Vietnamese students for their diligence, intelligence, and excellent academic performance. This year, PKU launched a new Master’s programme in Teaching Chinese as a Second Language at its Shenzhen campus, and two-thirds of the admitted students are Vietnamese. It is wonderful to see such meaningful outcomes from this cooperation,” Dr. Zhang Hechuan noted.
Assoc. Prof. Ngac An Bang presented souvenirs to representatives of the University’s partner institutions.
A representative from the Embassy of France in Vietnam introduced the advantages and opportunities of studying in France, covering aspects such as the economy, education system, and support policies for international students.
During the event, students had the opportunity to listen to presentations from representatives of universities and international organizations introducing their academic strengths, scholarship programmes, exchange opportunities, and research collaboration initiatives. Outside the auditorium, participating institutions also hosted information booths to provide students with more in-depth consultation and interaction opportunities.
Luong Tran Gia Bao, a Grade 11 student from Class 11A2 Informatics at the High School for Gifted Students in Science, shared that he aims to study abroad and proactively registered for the event after seeing the announcement on the University’s fanpage. He is currently interested in Computer Science and Business/Economics-related fields. Bao was particularly interested in National Taiwan Normal University and Peking University, which he considers highly reputable institutions offering programmes aligned with his interests.
Chau Anh, a student from Foreign Trade University, shared that although she had attended several study abroad counselling events before, this was her first time participating in an event organized by VNU University of Science. She was especially interested in universities in Australia such as the University of Technology Sydney, the University of Melbourne, and Deakin University. In addition, she also explored information about universities in the United States and Canada due to their strong global reputations. While visiting the booths, she found that although some programmes were not directly related to her current major, many offered complementary knowledge and skills that could be highly beneficial for her future academic and professional development.
In recent years, Vietnam has increasingly prioritized science, technology, innovation, and international integration as key national development strategies. In this context, universities are expected not only to provide academic excellence, but also to prepare students to become global citizens capable of thriving in a rapidly changing world. To support students in reaching global opportunities, VNU University of Science continues to actively expand international exchange programmes, research internships, and scholarship opportunities, helping students build successful future careers.
