From September 12 - 15, 2023, a group of students from Ibaraki University, Japan, had an exchange week at the University of Sciences, VNU Hanoi Hanoi. During this time, the Japanese students had the opportunity to experience and study at the Faculty of Physics and the Faculty of Chemistry of the University of Sciences, VNU Hanoi.
Over a week, the Japanese students attended six specialized lectures by leading experts from the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Physics. Additionally, they enjoyed touring the system of laboratories and biological museums at the University of Science and participated in various cultural activities in Vietnam.
Dr. Makiko Fukumura, head of the Ibaraki University delegation, shared that this visit and exchange included five students from majors like Mechanical Systems, Electrical and Electronics, Material Science, and Biotechnology. Therefore, they were interested in lectures around areas such as mechanical systems, electrical and electronic systems engineering, material science, computer science, and information technology.
Student Kensuke Endo, Ibaraki University expressed his impression and interest in the lecture on Raman Spectroscopy Applications. According to Kensuke Endo, this is one of the most important measurement techniques in industry and transportation.
In particular, student Koki Noumura from the Electrical and Electronics Department found the lectures in this course quite interesting as the knowledge taught by the professors was similar to his major. Through these lectures, he gained new and interesting knowledge. Koki Noumura affirmed that his time studying and experiencing at the University of Sciences will be unforgettable memories.
At the closing ceremony of the exchange program, Associate Professor, Dr. Ngac An Bang, Vice-Rector of the University of Sciences, on behalf of the University, awarded certificates of completion to the Japanese students.
In October, the University of Sciences will also send a delegation of five students from the Faculty of Chemistry to participate in the fall exchange program at Ibaraki University. On this occasion, they had the opportunity to meet, get acquainted, and interact with staff and students from Ibaraki University who came to study and exchange in Vietnam.
