On May 8th 2020, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Kim Sơn, Director of Vietnam National University (VNU) signed decision No. 1368/QĐ-ĐHQGHN to appoint Assoc.Prof.Dr.Sc. Vũ Hoàng Linh, formerly Vice Principal of VNU University of Science (VNU - HUS), to be the new Principal of VNU - HUS.
Assoc.Prof.Dr.Sc. Vũ Hoàng Linh
The new principal of VNU - HUS, Assoc.Prof.Dr.Sc. Vũ Hoàng Linh was a Math major at the University of Hanoi. He was also a student and researcher at a university in Hungary. He carried out his Applied Mathematics doctoral thesis defense at University of Budapest under the guidance of Prof. Katalin Balla in 1998. Mr. Linh became an Associate Professor in 2007.
From 2009 to 2011, Mr. Linh collaborated with Prof. Volker Mehrmann (currently the president of European Mathematical Society). His research was sponsored by the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation, an organization supporting experienced researchers at Technical University of Berlin, Germany. He defended his habilitation thesis at Technical University of Berlin in 2014.
Positions held by Mr. Linh includes: Dean of the Faculty of Math - Mechanics - Informatics (November 2008 - May 2014). Vice Principal of VNU - HUS (May 2014 - May 2020), Vice President and General Secretary of the Vietnam Mathematical Society (August 2018 - now)
