Building an aligned Student Exchange Program with Representatives from Ibaraki University, Japan

At the end of October, a group of students from the Faculty of Chemistry, University of Sciences will embark on a short-term exchange at Ibaraki University, Japan. This is an annual student exchange activity between the two institutions. To ensure that the students have meaningful and suitable learning and experience opportunities, representatives from Ibaraki University had a direct working session with the leaders of the University of Sciences.

During the meeting, representatives from the International Cooperation Office and the Engineering School of Ibaraki University provided detailed information about the schedule, study plans, and student experiences for the upcoming course.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang, Vice-Rector of the University of Sciences, appreciated the thoughtful preparation by Ibaraki University, Japan, and expressed confidence that the student group would gain valuable lessons and interesting experiences.

Dr. Pham Van Thanh, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Physics, had open discussions about some challenges that students from the Faculty, in particular, and the University of Sciences, in general, are facing when participating in exchange courses in Japan. Understanding the concerns, representatives from Ibaraki University proposed feasible solutions to support outstanding students to more easily access the program in the future.

Through this direct discussion, both sides agreed on the exchange process and developed a student exchange program for the coming years. The aim is to help students receive courses that match their specializations, enhancing the value of experience and exchange between students of the two institutions.

Based on the positive cooperation results achieved in the past, Dr. Le Huu Tuyen, Deputy Head of the Cooperation and Development Department at the University of Sciences, hoped that the two sides could proceed to develop exchange programs for master's and doctoral students. Additionally, they aim to expand the scope of cooperation not only within the limits of the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Physics but also to other training fields where both institutions share similarities.

On this occasion, representatives from Ibaraki University also presented a special gift from the group of Japanese students who recently completed their exchange course at the University of Sciences in September, to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ngac An Bang and the leadership of the Faculty of Chemistry and the Faculty of Physics.
