Enhancing and Deepening Cooperation with the University of Toulon, France

The University of Toulon, France, is one of the long-standing partners of the University of Sciences, Vietnam National University, Hanoi. Over the years, the two universities have collaborated in training and research exchanges not only at the undergraduate level but also in postgraduate programs. Many staff and lecturers from the University of Sciences have been research students at the University of Toulon and other prestigious universities in France.

Welcoming and working with the Director of the University of Toulon, Xavier Laroux, and the Deputy Director in charge of International Cooperation, Brigitte Muller, were Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son, Vice-Rector of the University; Dr. Le Huu Tuyen, Deputy Head of the Department for Cooperation and Development; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Ngoc, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry, along with faculty members from the Faculty of Chemistry who studied at the University of Toulon.

The master's training program in Chemistry between the University of Sciences and the University of Toulon has been conducted with over ten cohorts. This is evidence of the effective and enduring cooperative relationship between the two universities.

During the exchange, Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son informed that alongside the University of Toulon, the University of Sciences has cooperative relations with many universities in Europe in general and specifically within the Erasmus system. Over the years, not only faculty and students from the Faculty of Chemistry, but also those from other faculties within the University such as the Faculty of Environment, Faculty of Geology, Faculty of Biology, etc., have engaged in various cooperations and participated in numerous exchange programs and scholarships in European countries.

Based on this, to further promote and expand the undergraduate training cooperation program between the University of Toulon and the University of Sciences, Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son proposed expanding the student recruitment criteria. Accordingly, not only students proficient in French but also those who meet the required English language proficiency level could apply. This proposal was immediately supported by representatives from the University of Toulon.
