Students from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students awarded Labour Orders and the Prime Minister’s Certificates of Merit

On December 15, 2023, Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan met and commended the school students – the prize winners at the 2023 International Olympiads and International Science and Technology competitions.

At the meeting, the Vice President presented the Labour Orders to 16 students; and Deputy Minister of Education and Training Ngo Thi Minh presented the Prime Minister’s Certificates of Merit to nine students, for their excellent performance at the International Olympiads and Sci-Tech competitions in 2023.

Among the commended, there were 11 students (the 2022-2023 academic year) from VNU HUS High School for Gifted Students, including 6 Labour Order awardees and 5 PM Certificate of Merit receivers. Specifically, 12th grader Pham Viet Hung and 11th grader Vo Hoang Hai were awarded the First-class Labour Orders; 11th grader Nguyen Ngoc Dang Khoa and 12th grader Nguyen Manh Khoi were awarded the Second-class Labour Orders; 12th graders Tran Xuan Bach and Nguyen Tien Loc were awarded the Third-class Labour Orders; 11th grader Pham Cong Minh and 12th graders Tran Pham Manh, Nguyen Quang Minh, Nguyen Thi Mai Anh and Nguyen Binh Giang were presented with the PM’s Certificates of Merit.

In 2023, Vietnam sent seven teams with a total of 36 students to regional and international Olympiads. All the contestants won prizes, including 8 gold medals, 12 silver medals, 12 bronze medals and four Certificates of Merit, placing Vietnam with a large number of highest scores among the top 10 performers.

The 2023 International Science and Engineering Fair (Regeneron ISEF 2023) for high school students, held in Dallas (the USA) in mid-May, attracted contestants from 61 countries and territories. Among the seven participating projects from Vietnam, one won an official award and another received a special prize worth 2,000 USD from the U.S. Agency for International Development.
