An International Master Program in Semiconductor Technology is in preparatory process at VNU University of Science as an activity of cooperation with the National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan

On the 2nd January 2019, a delegation from the National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan (NTCU) visited VNU-HUS and discussed some future joint project.

On the 2nd January 2019, a delegation from the National Chiao Tung University, Taiwan (NTCU) visited VNU-HUS and discussed some future joint project. Also in the framework of the collaboration, on the same day the representatives of the two universities made a visit to Hong Hai Technology Group - Foxconn in Que Vo Industrial Park, Bac Ninh.

The delegation from NTCU was led by Prof. Dr. Chang, Mau Chung (Frank Chang), President. From the VNU-HUS side, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi, Rector; Assoc. Prof. Dr.habil. Vu Hoang Linh, Vice Rector and representatives of the Faculty of Chemistry, Physics and the International Relations Office welcomed the visitors from Taiwan.

During the meeting, the two universities discussed bilateral cooperation and proposed a plan to implement a Master degree program on semiconductor technology. The Master of Science degree program in semiconductor technology aims to train professionals working in the semiconductor industry.

The joint training program is the foundation for the development of cooperation between NCTU and VNU-HUS, which will be the springboard for the development of other programs between NCTU and VNU-HUS in the future.

Assoc.Prof.Dr.habil. Vu Hoang Linh shared his appreciation for the joint training program, and his expectation that the two parties will put the program into operation soon. The Vice Rector proposed that the universities focus on the recruitment and employment of students after graduation, aiming for more scholarships for outstanding students from companies participating in this recruitment.

During the visit to Hong Hai Technology Group - Foxconn, Assoc.Prof.Dr.habil. Vu Hoang Linh expressed his expectation that the Hong Hai Group and VNU-HUS will cooperate to organize factory tours, internship program for students, and job fair for recruitment of graduates.

Representing the Board of Directors of Hong Hai Group, Mr. Trac Hien Hong - General Director shared his wishes for cooperation with VNU-HUS and for the recruitment of high-quality graduates for the technical staff of the Group.

NCTU public university was founded in 1958 in Hsinchu City, Taiwan (although prior to this, it existed from 1896 in Shanghai). NTCU is one of Taiwan's leading multi-disciplinary universities with strengths in technology, engineering, computer science, management science and social sciences. NCTU is often referred to as the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) of Asia. In the field of Electronic Technology, NCTU ranks first among Chinese and Taiwanese universities and among the top 10 best universities in the Asia-Pacific region. In the field of Computer Science, NCTU ranks in the top 30 of the world. The NCTU Business and Management training program has been voted one of the best five programs in Asia by Asia Inc. magazine.
