Attending the signing ceremony, on the side of Honeywell UOP has Mr. Jonathan Bellany, Vice President was in charge of personnel; Dr. Santi Kulprathipanja, Director of Research and Development in Southeast Asia; Ms. Mai Thanh Trang, Chairman of Honeywell in Indochina. In the side of VNU University of Science also has Ass. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tien Giang – Head of Department of International Relations and Administration, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Le Thanh Son, Dean of the Faculty of Chemistry and numerous teachers and their students.

In the basic of the signed document, the two sides will deploy cooperation contents:
- To award scholarships annually for students in the last 2 years of petrochemical engineering majors with outstanding academic achievement;
- Supporting VNU University of Science to reform and develop curriculum, design program of teaching petrochemical engineering, train chemical engineers. Supporting documents, books, software,... teaching; holding workshops, seminar; to send the leading professors to Honeywell UOP , and co-supervisor the students doing thesis, ...
- Supporting VNU University of Science to develop experiences as well as teaching skills in the petrochemical industry.
Speaking at the ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Dr Bui Duy Cam expressed the joy and excitement when the VNU University of Science signed documents to establish cooperation relationship with Honeywell UOP in Vietnam. Since the meeting of the first exchange 2 years ago, today the cooperation relationship between the two sides has become a reality. He stressed, VNU University of Science is the top university in Vietnam for not only about training and basic science research, but also for applied sciences. The University is striving to become an advanced research university in the region and around the world. Therefore, in addition to the trying effort of all staff, faculty and students, we are always expanding cooperation with scientists, universities, research institutes, companies, corporations,... in the world . The signing of cooperation documents with UOP today is a testament to the development of international cooperation relationship of us. Hopefully, the cooperation between the two sides would develop more and more.
Dr. Gavin P. Towler said that he was delighted when the representative of Honeywell UOP in Vietnam signed the cooperation with VNU University of Science. As a technology provider, UOP pays special attentions to the support of training technology engineers, especially technology engineers in the petrochemical field to operate the factories safely, effectively on producing fuel for Vietnam.
Also at the ceremony, Honeywell UOP awarded 5 scholarships (500USD/one/schoolyear) for 5 students in chemical industry with outstanding achievements in learning. By his fourth year, the most outstanding student in the student scholarship recipients will be selected to continue to the headquarters of Honeywell UOP to complete the summer internship period.
