On Monday, 9th May 2016, Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia had a meeting with the delegation of experts from the International Institute for Applied System Analysis (IIASA) leading by Prof. Pavel Kabat – CEO of IIASA.
Vietnam has officially become the 21st member of IIASA since November 2013. The meeting at the VNU University of Science is a part of the working program chain of IIASA delegation with Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the concerned ministries in Vietnam.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia introduced briefly the University of Science as one of the leading universities and research institutions in basic sciences of Vietnam.
VNU University of Science has suggested some content of joint research programs with IIASA in cooperation with the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology and the ministries involved. The issues of doctoral training scholarships, recruitment of young scientists to participate in the annual summer training at the member nations of the IIASA, funding of training activities, joint research programs were mutually discussed.
