A silver medal of the International Biology Olympiad and a Labor Medal class III awarded by the President of Vietnam in 2020 are the outstanding achievements of Đồng Ngọc Hà - a former Physics-gifted student of HUS High School for Gifted Students (a member unit of Vietnam National University - University of Science, or VNU - HUS).

On September 9th, 2021, Vietnam National University - Hanoi University of Science formally held the 2021 Closing Ceremony and awarded the Bachelor of Science degree to full-time students online. On the morning of September 10th, Vietnam National University - University of Science (VNU - HUS) organized the 2021 Graduation and Degree Awarding Ceremony for full-time Bachelor of Science alumni. Due to COVID-19, the ceremony was hosted online at 334 Nguyễn Trãi, Thanh Xuân, Hà Nội.

On the morning of September 5th, 2021, in the nationwide back-to-school spirit, teachers and students of HUS High School for Gifted Students (a member unit of Vietnam National University - Hanoi University of Science, VNU-HUS) organized the 2021-2022 School Year Opening Ceremony via Zoom. All four Vietnamese contestants at the International Chemistry Olympiad 2021 (IChO 2021) secured three gold and one silver medals according to the Ministry of Education and Training on August 2, 2021.

On July 27, 2021, Cybermetrics Labs (under the Spanish National Research Council) announced the second Webometrics rankings of 2021. Accordingly, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU) ranked 959th among the world’s top 1,000 universities.
