Recently, post-graduate student Pham Thanh Luan, born in 1990, lecturer of the Faculty of Physics, HUS, has successfully defended his doctoral thesis. Remarkably, the post-graduate student has 23 articles related to the thesis, of which he is the main author of 10 ISI articles, 4 belonging to emerging group ESCI of ISI, 2 Scopus, 4 belong to national and international magazines. Besides, this post-graduate student also co-authored 2 ISI articles and 1 article in an International Conference Proceedings. This is a much higher accomplishment than the latest Regulations on Admission and Training for Doctoral level issued by the Ministry of Education and Training in 2017 which requires only one international publication.

On Jan 26th 2021, the summarizing ceremony of SEA-PLASTIC-EDU project was held after 3 years of operation. This is a project that aims to enhance education and training capacity in management and recycling plastic, focusing on the quality, safety and effective use of resources with the participation of 6 universities from Austria, Germany, Denmark, Laos and Vietnam.

The recent three-year evaluation on international scientific publication revealed that the strong research group on “Chelation and Inorganic Biochemistry” led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyễn Hùng Huy was once again recognized as the strong research group of VNU-HUS in next few years.

On January 21st, 2021, a seminar between the school board of VNU University of Science (VNU - HUS) and the Head of Regional German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Office in Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia and Myanmar was held at VNU - HUS, Hanoi. All parties had a discussion on cooperation in postgraduate education and training, scientific research, and talent programs.

On December 1st 2020, at the big lecture hall on the 7th floor of T5 building, VNU-HUSheld the opening ceremony for a new postgraduate cohort of 244 students.

In the morning of Nov 26th, 2020, a grand ceremony was held at Metri Hall (182 Luong The Vinh, Thanh Xuan, Hanoi) to celebrate HSGS’s10th anniversary, 55 years of tradition of Mathematics – Informatics Department, 35 years of tradition of Physics Department, and receive the title Labor Hero.

On December 30th, 2020, at the hall of Ngụy Như Kon Tum (19 Lê Thánh Tông, Hanoi), VNU University of Science held the 2020 Doctoral Award Ceremony for 42 graduate students who completed their training program and successfully defended their doctoral thesis in 2020.

Phạm Chiến Thắng (33), lecturer of the Faculty of Chemistry, VNU University of Science (VNU - HUS), was recently awarded the title of Associate Professor by the State Council for Professor Title. He became the youngest person to attain the title. He has 42 scientific articles published domestically and internationally.

Erasmus + ICM is an exchange program of the European Union.
