In the afternoon of March 2nd, 2017, their Majesties the Emperor and Empress of Japan visited the Biological Museum of VNU University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi where preserves the specimens of white goby and Onagadori chicken—gifts from the Japanese Royal Family.

On Monday, 13th February 2017, Rector of the VNU University of Science - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi has a meeting with the delegation from the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO).

On 16th January 2017, VNU University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-HUS) solemnly held the Opening Ceremony of quality assurance at the institutional level according to criteria of the ASEAN University Network (AUN) at the Le Van Thiem Hall, 19 Le Thanh Tong Street, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.

From 15th January to 20th January 2017, the VNU University of Science will assess the education quality according to the AUN-QA standards, honored to become the first university in Southeast Asia undergoing such kind of quality assessment.

On Wednesday, 28th December 2016, in Nguy Nhu Kon Tum Hall, the VNU University of Science has held a solemn ceremony for the 60 new Ph.D in the fields of Mathematics, Mechanics and Informatics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Geography, Geology, Meteorology, Hydrology and Oceanography, and Environmental Sciences.

On Friday, 16th December 2016, in Nguy Nhu Kon Tum Hall took place the first performance of the Friendship Choir.

On Wednesday, 23 November 2016, the Rector of VNU University of Science - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Noi and Vice Rector - Prof. Dr. Phan Tuan Nghia have a meeting with the delegation from the Arizona State University led by Mr. Jeffrey Goss - Assistant Vice Provost.

On Saturday, 19 November 2016, the Faculty of Physics, VNU University of Science solemnly celebrated 60th anniversary years and receive the First-class Labor Order.
