VNU University of Science, Vietnam National University, Hanoi (VNU-HUS) has received an invitation from the College of Engineering, National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), Taiwan, to nominate students to participate in the “Advanced Materials Technologies” Summer School Program. This program is designed to offer VNU-HUS students an opportunity to gain additional knowledge in the field of advanced materials through lectures delivered by NYCU professors, while experiencing the academic and research environment at NYCU and the cultural life in Taiwan. It is also expected to enhance students’ global integration capacity, confidence, and adaptability in international settings.

Program Details:

  1. Program Title: Summer School Program “Advanced Materials Technologies”

  2. Program Duration: July 5–13, 2025

  3. Main Activities:

    • Participate in lectures on advanced materials technologies;

    • Interview for the BenQ Materials Scholarship for NYCU Master’s programs;

    • Visit research laboratories and interact with graduate students and researchers;

    • Tour the TSMC Museum of Innovation;

    • Visit notable locations in Hsinchu and Taipei.

  1. Support from the Host Institution:

    • Full coverage of tuition and program activities;

    • Partial support for accommodation, in-country transportation, and excursions in Taiwan.

  2. Eligibility:

    • 3rd-year undergraduate students majoring in Physics, Chemistry, or Environmental Sciences with a cumulative GPA > 2.8;

    • Students interested in learning about graduate opportunities at NYCU;

    • Applicants must have basic English communication skills; priority given to those with international English certificates.

  3. Number of Participants: 20 students

    • Academic transcript (downloaded from the VNU-HUS online system);

  1. Implementation Process:

    • Based on submitted applications, the University will shortlist and nominate the most suitable candidates to NYCU;

    • The University will coordinate with NYCU for the second round of application screening;

    • Final participants will be notified;

    • Selected students will pay the program participation fee and prepare personal expenses:

      • Participation fee: 1,000,000 VND per student, payable to VNU University of Science;

      • Other travel expenses: airfare, visa fee, insurance, local transportation, meals, etc.

    • The Office of Cooperation and Development will provide pre-departure orientation and work with NYCU to organize the trip.
