A delegation of 9 students from the Talent Program, High-Quality Program, and International Program of the Faculty of Biology, VNU University of Science, has just completed an exchange trip, participating in an exciting Science Summer Program at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST).
During the 5 weeks in Hong Kong, the students had the opportunity to conduct research with world-leading professors in the field of biology and to access and use fully equipped and modern laboratory systems. It was a highly beneficial experience for the students, allowing them to exchange and learn with peers from around the world at HKUST. In addition, they participated in many extracurricular activities, explored the sights, and experienced the cuisine of one of Asia's most vibrant cities.
The Science Summer Program at HKUST was organized with the support and connections of the faculty from the VNU University of Science, particularly Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, who is currently working at HKUST. Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh is an alumnus of Cohort 6 (equivalent to K47 of the Talent Program in Biology at VNU University of Science). After graduating, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh has continued to show great interest in and support for the Faculty of Biology and the university, contributing to education, scientific research, and mentoring students.
By demonstrating outstanding research abilities, the students participating in the program not only left a positive impression of VNU University of Science, but four of the nine students received invitations to join research groups, with the opportunity to study in Hong Kong immediately after graduating in June 2025. It is hoped that among these nine students, as well as many others from the Faculty of Biology and the university, they will achieve great success in scientific research and have the opportunity to work at top universities both domestically and internationally. This will expand the educational and research network with alumni of the VNU University of Science, further marking the success of the university’s training efforts.
