In his opening remarks, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong, Vice-President of VNU, expressed his pleasure in welcoming the 456th AUN-QA assessment team to evaluate the four undergraduate programs of the VNU University of Science. He stated:
“As a leading research university in Vietnam, VNU is entrusted with a national mission: to nurture talents, lead innovation in science and technology, and spearhead comprehensive reform in Vietnam's higher education system. This mission is closely tied to our unwavering commitment to academic excellence, evaluated according to the highest international standards. VNU’s journey with AUN-QA is a testament to this long-term strategic commitment.”

On behalf of the AUN-QA assessment team, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Maria Elissa J. Lao officially launched the 456th AUN-QA Programme Assessment at the VNU University of Science, VNU.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Dao Thanh Truong presented souvenirs to the AUN-QA assessment team in recognition of their involvement in the evaluation of the university’s four programs.

To date, VNU has developed a comprehensive quality assurance ecosystem, with 158 accredited academic programs. Among them, 63 programs have been certified by AUN-QA, while others have received recognition from prestigious organizations such as ACQUIN and ACBSP. The increasing number of internationally accredited programs reflects not only statistical growth but also the university’s tireless efforts and determination to reinforce its position as a leading institution in the region.

NhãnProf. Dr. Le Thanh Son, Rector of VNU-HUS, also presented souvenirs to the members of the 456th AUN-QA assessment team.

This 456th AUN-QA external assessment presents an opportunity for VNU-HUS to receive objective evaluations based on AUN-QA’s rigorous standards across the four programs: Computer and Information Science, Materials Science, Meteorology and Climatology, and Land Management. Over three consecutive working days, the assessment team will review all critical aspects of the programs, including learning outcomes, teaching methodologies, student support services, facilities, and more. The feedback from the assessors will serve as an important foundation for the University to further enhance its achievements, seriously identify areas for improvement, and improve training quality. Ultimately, this will help increase the competitiveness of VNU-HUS graduates in the global labor market.
